The Indian leg spinner found himself out of the Indian Squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This decision has certainly raised a few eyebrows. Many people including some Ex-Cricketers feel that Chahal should have been included in the Indian T20 World Cup Squad.
The decision was quite surprising because, Chahal wasn't bowling badly in the international arena. He performed quite well in Australia and he played decently in the home series against England, he was a bit expensive but he only played 3 games in that series.
Chahal has been the spearhead of Indian spin bowling in T20 format over the last few years. He is an intelligent bowler with a lot of heart. His experience could have come handy in the World Cup.
What is even more surprising that India have included 5 spinners in the World Cup Squad but Chahal isn't included in it. With Ashwin's selection is a welcome one, Chahal's exclusion is not.
The only thing Chahal could do now is to focus on the IPL and prove his metal once again. He is a champion bowler and surely will return in the India Colours.
