This is a big debate, specially amongst Indian cricket fans. Whether Virat Kohli is the best option to lead Indian Cricket Team in white ball cricket. So many people think that Rohit Sharma should be given the responsibility. The reason being, Rohit Sharma has won 5 IPL titles for Mumbai Indians, so that's quite a feat.
On the other people argue that Virat Kohli hasn't done a bad job in captaining the limited overs Indian side. The only that goes against Virat Kohli is that he hasn't won a ICC trophy yet. Even though he has done a very good job in Bilateral Tournaments. But somehow the ICC trophy has eluded him. Having said that he has only played two ICC limited overs events as captain. So it's a bit unfair to judge him on that record.
The speculations were running high in the last few days that, Virat Kohli is handling the captainship duties to Rohit Sharma after the T20 world cup. But the present Treasurer of BCCI has denied that statement.
There is huge division in Indian cricket fans and followers regarding this decision. But if India win this upcoming T20 world cup. That could change the scenario in favour of Virat Kohli. We just have to wait and watch.
