So the second phase of IPL is going to start tomorrow ie on 19th October 2021. The UAE phase will start with a bang as Chennai Super Kings will be playing against Mumbai Indians. In IPL it doesn't get bigger than this.
Before the IPL was cut short earlier this year due to Covid-19, the last match in fact was CSK vs MI. Mumbai won the match on the last ball, it was a fantastic game. With 10 points CSK are sitting at 2nd Spot on the points table while with 8 points MI are placed at 4th position on the table.
With Sam Curran, Faf du plessis and possibly Moin Ali unavailable for the first game game, the Mumbai Indians certainly have an upper hand on the game. Jadeja is also going through some fitness issues, so it would be interesting to see if plays the first game or not. With Dhoni & Raina retired, Rayudu hasn't had much of a match practice similar to most of the players of course. But things are not looking so bright for the CSK.
Having said that we all know how against all odds CSK most times rise to the occasion. So one can never write-off CSK. On the other hand Mumbai Indian with the strong side, Rohit Sharma looking in great touch are looking much more balanced side at this point of time. As for Rohit Sharma, looks like he is in good head space after the England tour.
So the stage is set for the big match on Sunday. Let's hope it lives up to the expectations of the fans around the world.
