Ganguly quits…

Bad news for all the ‘Dada’ fans across the world as he announces his retirement from international cricket after the Australia series. The selection of Sourav Ganguly in the Indian Squad was a shock for many people as he was dropped from the Irani Trophy. Many people are saying that the selection of Ganguly is a part of a deal between the selectors and Ganguly that’s why he has been selected for the test series against the Australians and after that he will quit. It doesn’t matter because everyone know that ‘Dada’ is great cricketer and it will be a big loss for Indian cricket.
Here is a small summary of his career
Test Debut 20 June 1996 v England.
ODI Debut 11 January 1992 v West Indies.
He has played 311 ODIs and scored 11,363 runs at an average of 41.02 which is very high in the ODIs with the best of 183 against Sri Lanka in the 1999 world cup. He has scored 22 centuries and 72 half centuries. He has also taken 100 wickets at an average of 38.49 with his best performance of 5/16 against Pakistan in Toronto in 1997.
In the Test matches
In 109 tests he scored 6888 runs and averages 41.74. He scored 15 100’s and 34 50’s with the highest score of 239. He has taken 32 wickets at the average of 52.53.
As he has now announced his retirement he will be looking to make most of the remaining four test matches in his career.
Along with his batting Ganguly will be also remembered for his aggressive captaincy which makes him the most successful captain of India.
