MS Dhoni took everyone by surprise by stepping down from the captaincy. Ravindra Jadeja has been given the responsibility to lead the CSK side, as he is the most valuable player in side right now. And he also has so much experience. But the thing is can he handle the captaincy role. The last time Ravindra Jadeja captained any team is when he was playing under 19 cricket. So that's a long time ago. So the big question is can he lead this big franchise, does he have what it takes to lead the CSK side.

Well in the first two games, it was very difficult for him as the Chennai Super Kings have lost both their games. Specially the first game where that batting of CSK failed pretty badly. Jadeja had nothing much to do in the first game. CSK easily lost that game against the KKR. But it was the second game where everyone is a bit concerned. As Dhoni was seen setting all the fields and he was also making all the bowling changes. At least, that's what it was seemed like.

It's another thing to take a bit of advice every now and then from the senior players but taking a back sit in the entire match doesn't feel right. So this is where the question arises. Is Ravindra Jadeja capable of handling the captaincy role. It's still early-days to say anything about that. But at least, it should feel like that Jadeja is captaining the side. It's a big task to replace MS Dhoni, maybe no one will be as effective and as popular as Dhoni. But Jadeja has to be his own person and handle things his way.

Hopefully for Jadeja he will be more pro-active and more involved as captain in the next game. The core of Chennai is very strong and Dhoni will be guiding Jadeja all along, maybe only this year. But Jadeja has to capitalize on that. He is a champion player. Let's see how he handles this challenge.
